for those not familiar with contemporary Australian federal politics drama scene....
3yrs ago, the deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard, infamously knifed the PM Kevin Rudd in the back to become Australia's First Female Prime Minister.
To deal with the public backlash on the perceived unfairness, her colleagues and her attempted to bury Kevin Rudd with a vicious character assassination.
Kevin Rudd retreated to the parliamentary back bench where he and his followers undermined her leadership by "white anting" her at every opportunity... until finally he won enough support to depose her, regain prime ministership and force her to resign from politics.
In the good old days, a deposed leader would have been dealt with more severely, such as with a beheading, just to ensure they don't come back to threaten the throne again.
Perhaps Julia will lament her inability to truly bury Kevin.
